So, we've got here an ingenious alchemy of history, mystery and powerful human drama and I think all people loving this will appreciate this book...

Chaque membre de ce groupe hétéroclite à une histoire. Camelot, vendeur de saintes reliques qui deviendra le chef du groupe, Cygnus, conteur manchot... Narigorm l'étrange enfant silencieuse ainsi qu'un peintre et sa femme enceinte, chacun a un secret. Aucun d'eux n'est ce qu'il paraît. Et un parmi eux cache un secret encore plus noir, propulsant ces menteurs vers un destin qu'il n'aurait jamais imaginé. Cet extraordinaire roman de Karen Maitland peut faire penser de prime abord aux Contes de Canterbury de par sa situation dans le temps. Je pense qu'il s'agit plus d'un conte d'horreur psychologique et sa localisation dans le temps et l'espace en est une partie intrinsèque. Le groupe si particulier de menteurs, certains par profession d'autres par auto protection, complète l'atmosphère du roman. Nous avons donc ici une ingénieuse alchimie d'histoire, de mystère ainsi qu'un puissant drame humain et il est évident que toutes les personnes aimant ça apprécieront ce livre...

De Narigorn, niña extraña y silenciosa a un pintor y su esposa embarazada, todos tienen un secreto. Ningun de ellos es lo que parece. Y uno de ellos esconde un secreto aún más negro que los otros, impulsando estos mentirosos a un destino que nunca imaginaron. Esta novela extraordinaira de Karen Maitland se puede comparar a los Cuentos de Canterbury debido a su ubicación en el tiempo. Creo que es más un cuento de terror psicológica y su ubicación en el tiempo y el espacio es parte intrinseca de eso. El grupo particular de mentirosos, algunos por profesión, los otros por auto protección, completan el ambiente de la novela. Tenemos entonces aquí una ingeniosa alquimia de historia, misterio y un potente drama humano y queda claro que a todas las personas que le gusta eso apreciarán este libro...
