De
l'Afghanistan à la banlieue parisienne, de 2001 à nos jours, Marc
Charuel s'attaque dans ce nouveau roman au terrorisme et à
l'islamisme radical. L'intrigue s'articule autour de deux personnages
principaux. Le premier est Sébastien Verdier, infiltré dans un
réseau islamiste au début des années 2000, libéré au bout de dix
ans de prison il va retrouver ses «frères» et espère également
le soutien des services secrets français pour être réhabilité. Le
second est Georges Chesnier, reporter pugnace, journaliste au
Courrier Picard, il souhaite approfondir son étude de l'islamisme
radical en France en rencontrant une seconde fois, dix ans après,
Verdier. Malgré l'intervention de la CIA, l'engrenage dans lequel
ils sont prisonniers semble inextricable... Grand reporter, Marc
Charuel signe ici un thriller incroyablement documenté sur le
terrorisme. Aucunement manichéen, il nous présente toutes les
forces en présence, leurs ressentis les uns des autres, et nous
entraîne au cœur de l'actualité d'une guerre sans nom que se
livrent les services de renseignement et qui ne doit pas être très
éloignée de la réalité...

enable him to start a new life. The author portrays a banal man at 40
years old, but she knows, as always, use the right words to make the
reader feel all the emotions of his hero. Interesting novel even if
